Dr. Phone Fix Expands Partnership with Assurant to Accelerate Certified Pre-Owned Phone Sales Across Canada

TORONTO, July 2, 2025 /CNW/Dr. Phone Fix (TSXV: DPF) is pleased to announce the expansion of its strategic partnership with Assurant, Inc. (NYSE: AIZ), a leading global provider of protection services for connected devices, homes, and vehicles. This enhanced collaboration unlocks a nationwide supply of certified pre-owned smartphones for Dr. Phone Fix’s 35 retail locations across four Canadian provinces.

Building on an already strong relationship, this expanded partnership represents a significant milestone in both companies’ commitment to serving the fast-growing pre-owned mobile device market. Dr. Phone Fix will now benefit from broader inventory access and deeper integration with Assurant’s end-to-end device lifecycle expertise.

“Our customers want affordable, fully warrantied smartphones,” said Piyush Sawhney, CEO of Dr. Phone Fix. “This expanded collaboration with Assurant strengthens our supply chain, increases inventory velocity, and helps us meet growing demand in the fastest-growing segment of the mobile market.”

According to research by CCS Insight, the pre-owned smartphone market is expected to exceed 400 million units globally by 2029, accounting for over 25% of total smartphone shipments. The partnership positions both companies to take full advantage of this rapidly expanding opportunity.

“Assurant continues to lead the evolving mobile device ecosystem,” said Paul Cosgrove, President and CEO of Assurant Canada. “By deepening our relationship with Dr. Phone Fix, we’re advancing our strategic goal of scaling access to high-quality pre-owned devices and delivering meaningful value to Canadian consumers.”

Dr. Phone Fix offers certified pre-owned smartphones with a one-year warranty, matching the peace of mind typically associated with new devices. The company operates 35 corporately owned stores in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

“We’re proud to offer high-quality, affordable smartphones while contributing to a more sustainable technology industry,” added Sawhney. “Extending the lifecycle of mobile devices helps reduce e-waste and carbon emissions tied to new phone production.”

This expanded partnership reinforces Dr. Phone Fix’s commitment to providing accessible, sustainable tech solutions for Canadians—and supports the company’s long-term growth strategy in an increasingly eco-conscious and value-driven market.
