NEW YORK, May 27, 2025 (CNW) - A group of judges for the Canadian SME Small Business Awards has picked Dr. Phone Fix Canada Corporation ("Dr. Phone Fix" or "Company")(TSXV: DPF) as a finalist for the "Canadian Sustainable Business of the Year" award.
Canada's Minister for Small Business gives extra praise to the winners. A black-tie dinner will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on June 20th to honour the winner of the Canadian SME Small Business "green" award.
Last year, Dr. Phone Fix got a silver award in Istanbul for Sustainability Leadership in Canada and the US. The company was honoured with other top companies from both Canada and the US. As well, the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce picked Dr. Phone Fix as a finalist for its green award for 2024.
CEO of Dr. Phone Fix Piyush Sawhney says, Dr. Phone Fix wants to help reduce e-waste through its business operations and recycling programs.
The company works with one of Canada's best non-profit recyclers to cut down on the amount of mobile phones and batteries that end up in landfills. After being cleaned, fixed up, updated, and checked to make sure they meet quality standards, used phones are sold to customers at a lower price than new phones. The same one-year guarantee that comes with new phones is also given to certified pre-owned phones.
